ROSSI GROUP: THE NEW GANACETO PLANT IN THE NAME OF SUSTAINABILITY

 

Within a complex industrial revolution movement, it is evident how innovation increasingly rhymes with sustainability

Rossi Group-a leader in the industrial power transmission sector now belonging to the Moovimenta Group and active in the most important international marketplaces for 70 years-has certainly been a key player in the green-oriented shift for some time, and the new Ganaceto plant is an important demonstration of all this.

 

The new Ganaceto plant: logistical efficiency and environmental sustainability

This project represents a significant investment in the Modena area and reflects the company's commitment to sustainable production practices. Developed over an area of 3575 square meters within a total area of 14570 square meters, the new Ganaceto facility features state-of-the-art solutions in line with the latest green regulations, including a rooftop photovoltaic system, advanced home automation systems and LED lighting.

Its main purpose is to lead to a significant increase in production capacity, improved logistics efficiency and reducedCO2 emissions. 

In the new plant, in fact, in addition to new machine tools, the technologies necessary for the manufacturing functional to the needs of Modena: an impactful choice also for the minimization of handling and travel operations, thus resulting in a significant saving in CO 2 emissions .

 

Investment in Renewable Energy

The focus on renewable energy sources also has a prominent place for Rossi Group. In fact, a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 340 kWp will be installed on the roof of the new plant, capable of producing 410,500 kWh of clean energy annually. This is in continuity with the photovoltaic plant under construction on the existing plants in Ganaceto and will have a capacity of 900 kWp and an expected annual output of 1,080,498 kWh. 

The new Lecce plant dedicated to iFIT technologies will also see the installation of a 72 kWp photovoltaic system, with an annual output of 102,139 kWh. 

 

Circular Economy

Logistical and environmental efficiency, renewable energy, and more. Rossi Group has also implemented several other initiatives to improve corporate sustainability:

  • Cold Press technology in plants, with elimination of 3 furnaces and energy savings of 323,400 kWh/year. An additional furnace is scheduled for removal next summer;
  • Automatic systems for chip centrifugation and oil reuse, resulting in significant waste reduction, > 60% savings on oil supply, > 50% reuse of recovered oil, and reduced disposal costs;
  • Separate Collection, Recycling and Reuse of Workshop Packaging, with a 74% reduction in undifferentiated collection
  • Energy efficiency, with the gradual replacement of traditional lighting with LED lights and home automation systems to control heating and lighting;
  • Social initiatives, with the establishment of a refreshment area in the main office equipped with a compactor for bottles and cans and a shredder for plastic cups and water dispensers, to raise awareness of recycling, and with a union agreement in place since the 1970s to pay for public transportation passes for employees, encouraging the use of public transportation and reducing air pollution.

Rossi Group: the importance of territory

Rossi Group has invested about 5 million for the new Ganaceto plant, which is expected to be ready by the end of 2024. In Lecce, the Group also continues to support social sustainability with 175 employees for the dedicated IFIT technology plant and a fruitful collaboration with the University of Lecce to recruit technical talent that enriches the company's team and competitiveness.
